Upon reviewing the Clinical Practice Evaluation 4 and from prior evaluations that have been completed I feel strongly that I will at least be proficient in all the sections but really, I would like to be distinguished. I feel that I should be distinguished in maintaining high expectations for the students that I am working with. I also feel that I would score in the proficient to distinguished range for respecting the diversity of others. I do feel that this is an area that I could show personal growth in, however. When planning I aim to have lessons that are differentiated to meet student’s needs, at instructional level, and has multiple means of engagement. But I feel that this is a little harder for me to accomplish, due to virtual learning. This limits the amount/types of manipulatives that students can work with and how I am able to interact with the students. I will ask the students to get things at their homes that they can manipulate, and my mentor teacher provided the students with magnet letters. I feel that because I follow the InTASC, SPA Standards, Code of Ethics, and Professional Dispositions this will help me to further myself to show fairness and professional conduct to all individuals. I am constantly reflecting on my professional practice to grow as an educator and better my lessons. I feel that I am proficient at sparking student’s curiosity, am honest, compassionate, an advocate, and committed to the students or the educational profession. I am proficient if not distinguished at understanding content knowledge, aim to foster positive learning environments, application of content, and understand how to help students grow. I feel that I could grow with my professional assessment of students’ knowledge. I am always learning new ways that I can assess students, how to better ask DOK questions, ask open-ended question, and would like to grow more in this area. I plan to learn more about assessments from collaborations with other educators, looking up assessments online, and creating my own. I feel that I am well versed in asking students questions to understand what they know with formative assessments but struggle with summative assessments. I feel that as an educator the best way to understand and address student’s needs is by collaborating with other stakeholders. So I feel that I am confident in understanding collaboration and work as a leader because if I don’t have an answer I will look up the information, find someone that knows the answer, or research to find the answer. I am also willing and offer up my ideas to other stakeholders through collaboration. I feel that there are always ways that educators can grow and develop in the profession. So, of the ways that I will grow also include Professional Development, this could get looking up teaching ideas on Teachers Pay Teachers, This Reading Mama, Pinterest’s and more. I plan to attend conferences and join webinars that are about special education and working with these students, has to do with different disabilities, and how to use differentiation, UDL, or other approaches. Lastly I plan to grow in there areas by working with other educators and my mentor teacher.
