short stories (A Rose for Emily, Sweat, hollering woman creek)

For this paper, you will examine the narrator as seen in one, two, or three of the stories read for this unit. You will discuss how the narrator contributes to that particular story. You may choose to write how a narrator is similar to that of another story. You may choose to write of how a narrator is radically different to that of the narrator of another story. Or you could devise some other way of writing about narrator(s) in the story or stories of your choosing.
Pick one: You may write about the narrator in 1 story; you may write about the narrators in 2 stories; you may write about the narrators in 3 stories. However, you may write about 3 or fewer stories. Three is the limit. 3 is the maximum number of stories you may use for this paper.
You must also use at least one (1) article from the list of scholarly articles as posted to the course Blackboard site (they are under the file folder Scholarly Articles on the Subject of the Narrator).
The essay should be at least around 4 to 5 pages, with a word count in the neighborhood of 1250 words, double-spaced text, 12 pt size, Times New Roman typeface. There should be a works cited paged: on it, include the stories used as basis for the paper, the minimum one (1) scholarly article from the above named folder on Blackboard, and any additional sources used from academic & reliable databases or wherever. Just know: Wikipedia, Sparknotes, Shmoop, or any other notes or site that explains the literature to you are not valid sources—and should be avoided at all costs. The citations should conform to the latest MLA version of citations. The Works Cited is not included in the page or word count; the word count is more important than the page count—and this refers to the actual text of the paper itself (and not the works cited page).
Keep in mind that this paper is purely subjective—in that, there are no wrong interpretations. Though there are well-supported or poorly supported answers. Use any notes or handouts as found via Blackboard. Also, feel free to research other academic & reliable sources from which you may pull to use in the essay. The opening paragraph should have an introduction to the topic, followed by a transition (in which the story or stories under examination in the paper are named—along with the respective author) to the thesis statement. The subsequent essay should have body paragraphs that have 1. One specific excerpt from a story; 2. An explanation of why that excerpt is significant to the thesis; 3. An excerpt from a research article that supports 2; 4. Just how that aspect of the literary theory is working in a specific part of that story. The conclusion should restate the thesis, cover your high points, and end with your own final thoughts on the topic at hand.
Will consist of if the paper meets the minimum requirements, if grammar & punctuation are as flawless as possible, how the thesis is framed, and the extent to which the paper supports the thesis, the manner in which the story/stories is/are referenced, how well the a
